Pink Red Roses Bouquet

Pink Red Roses Bouquet
9x12 Original Oil On Canvas
By Cheri Wollenberg 2020

I love roses!  Perhaps you are a rose lover too, or you know someone who does!  This small painting would make an excellent gift for a friend or relative.  It has a Victorian feel and makes one smile.  The good thing about a painting this small is that it can be displayed on a table easel and you can have fresh roses all year long (LOL).  Click Here to see more about this painting!

Pumpkin Gourd Painting II by Cheri Wollenberg

Original Oil on Artist Board 2018
by Cheri Wollenberg
Today's small painting is another 6x6 painting featuring some autumn leaves with a striped gourd.  These little gourds fascinate me!  Every year I buy more.  They bring so much color and variety to decorations whether in or outside the home.  They add to the creation of a festive atmosphere to the season.  I'm very thankful today for the art principle of variety!  Entertainment for me is quite simple:)  Find it here!

A Pumpkin Just In Time

With Pink Polka Dot Background
6x6 Original Oil Painting on Canvas
Cheri Wollenberg 2018

I suppose it's never too late to start again!  Life brings many diversions but time rolls on.  This small pumpkin will be a post starting again!  I haven't posted for a while now, but hopefully I'll make a habit of it again.  This small, autumn still life painting was a warm-up project you might say.  Sometimes when I've not been able to paint for a week or so I want to experience physical sensations of smell, touch, sight and problem solving to prepare me for a larger project (LOL).  This happens to be one of those.  It is listed in my Etsy store.  Take a look here.

Bird Nest Series - Bird Nest I Blue Eggs

Sometimes we artists need to take time to be with our families, do our day jobs (even if we are retired), or catch up with our friends in community and church apart from FaceBook. So, we have to take sabbaticals from blogging.  I've missed writing about the inspiration that causes me to paint.  I've still been painting, but it seems that writing about it falls to the wayside.  Anyway, I've decided I need to write about inspiration, process and product again in the paintings I do.  My first set of posts will be my Bird Nest Series.  All of these are copyrighted by me.  Click link below or here to see in my Etsy Store.

6x6 Wrap Around Canvas
Original Oil Painting by Cheri Wollenberg

Edges of painting have been painted black.  Many people prefer not to frame.  This makes a clean edge for a painting so that it can be either displayed as wall art or on small easels, or as you see above.

Apple Still Life Painting V

Apple Still Life Painting V, Uno Apple Painting
6x6 Oil on Stretched Canvas
Daily Painting by
Cheri Wollenberg
This small oil painting was one of the first paintings featuring apples that I did a couple of weeks ago.  I wanted to experiment with changing backgrounds, altering my style somewhat, and learn about painting them again.  I found out that however I try to paint, I usually have a style that presents itself.  But it is fun to try different ways of doing things.  This small painting can be found in my Etsy store.  Just click here if interested.

Apple Still Life Painting I

6x8 Oil Painting
by Cheri Wollenberg

Recently I decided I was going to paint several small and medium sized oil paintings of apples.  I needed to learn some things again.  I've done a lot of animals in the past 6 months so I decided that I would study the apple again (lol).  This apple is listed on Etsy.  Have a look by clicking Here.

Strawberries and Demitasse

Strawberries and Demitasse
6x8 Stretched Canvas
Still Life Painting by Cheri Wollenberg

I've been buying  fresh strawberries again.  So, this usually means that because they are so beautiful I am compelled to paint little paintings of them before they are all consumed!  In this little composition I arranged the strawberries around this little demitasse, blue and white cup and saucer.  I loved the primary color scheme it created; however, I must confess that I have several more little paintings in the "oven".
This small painting can be found in my Etsy shop.  You can click the widget at your right on the screen or click here.

Retro Cat and Red Apples - A Still Life Painting

Retro Cat and Red Apples
6x8 Oil on Canvas
Cheri Wollenberg

This little ceramic cat was an article that graced my grandmother's home for many years.  As a child I was fascinated by it as well as other items that she had placed around in various arrangements or on certain table tops with family pictures.  She had 9 children of whom my mother was number 6.  My grandfather had been a farmer all his life except when he served in WWI so they didn't have a lot of monetary things.  Their home was full of love; however my grandmother of 4'11" was a disciplinarian!  I'm sure she had to get her bluff in some way because of her size if not because of the need for organization in a large home and family situation.  Plus, on this side of my life I understand why one would not want 15+ grandkids jumping on her beds.  All this to say, I was not allowed to play with her knick-knacks, but I had a great imagination.  I imagined stories around this little ceramic figure....some of them quite whimsical.  It became one of my possessions when I found it in my mothers garage many years later.  This little painting makes me smile.  I smiled all the time I painted it.  The figurine is in other paintings I've done.  I still get a charge of memory out of arranging it in compositions great and small.  It is listed in my Etsy store.

Nellie - Pig Painting

6x6 Oil on Artist Board
Cheri Wollenberg
Nellie is a Hampshire pig.  Hampshire pigs are usually all black with white markings on their faces.  My grandson shows pigs in the local livestock fairs here in Central Oklahoma.  His favorite breeds of pig are the Hampshire and Spot hogs.  Nellie is pretty young here.....and clean!  It doesn't take much for her to find mud and have a dirt bath.  Details of this small painting can be seen in my Etsy shop by clicking here.

Little Nest of Eggs - Daily Painting

Little Nest of Eggs
6x6 Artist Board
A Daily Painting by Cheri Wollenberg
I am very busy right now moving to another home.  I have studios in two different places, and I am preparing for two exhibitions.  This little nest of blue eggs is one I enjoyed painting while I was on a trip to New Mexico last week.  I have painted birds' eggs and nests before and they are quite fun.  This  painting will be for sale in a gallery I'm working with so if you are interested, you will need to contact me by email located in my profile.
