Apple Still Life Painting I

6x8 Oil Painting
by Cheri Wollenberg

Recently I decided I was going to paint several small and medium sized oil paintings of apples.  I needed to learn some things again.  I've done a lot of animals in the past 6 months so I decided that I would study the apple again (lol).  This apple is listed on Etsy.  Have a look by clicking Here.

Three Tomatoes Set on a Sill

6x18 Original Oil Painting on Canvas
Cheri Wollenberg
I have  shared on previous posts about the nice people who have brought garden produce as gifts to my husband and I.  What good friends we have!!  They shared with us because our garden turned out to be a flop!  We only harvested onions in the spring and a very bad tasting watermelon later in the season.  A few circumstances of life visited us this year that created a challenge for us to keep it up and running.  However, we enjoyed these gifts of ripe peaches, corn on the cob, and a bounty of tomatoes in several different ways of preparation (lol).  I prepared them first in still compositions that made my mouth water and then we prepared them for eating!  I love to paint red things.  Red shouts energy, excitement and love!  We received our friends' love over and over:)  It is for sale here.

Still Life Painting of Marigold Flowers and Gourd

9x12 Oil on Canvas
Cheri Wollenberg
Orange, marigold flowers in beige pitcher with pumpkin gourd and red cloth in background is the subject for this little still life composition.  A friend and I painted these marigolds set up with a turquoise green pitcher and when she left I couldn't help but paint them again.  The colors were so autumn and cheerful.  This painting is in my Etsy store.  You can find out more about it by clicking here

Tomatoes on a Window Sill - Food Painting

11x14 Oil on Canvas
Cheri Wollenberg
Four tomatoes are the subject of this medium sized painting.  Food paintings create a comfortable decor in many kitchens; however, my interest in painting them goes a little beyond kitchen decor.  Every time I have set tomatoes up for a still life composition to paint....the reflections and colors of the fruit have created such visual excitement that I am inspired over and over again.  This painting is listed in my Etsy shop.  Click tomatoes to see more details.

Red geraniums are still my choice in subject matter this week.  I've found them to be compatible with many different items in my still life object collection.  Their brilliance and liveliness bring a special sparkle to the compositions.  To buy this painting you must follow this link.
