Tomatoes on a Window Sill - Food Painting

11x14 Oil on Canvas
Cheri Wollenberg
Four tomatoes are the subject of this medium sized painting.  Food paintings create a comfortable decor in many kitchens; however, my interest in painting them goes a little beyond kitchen decor.  Every time I have set tomatoes up for a still life composition to paint....the reflections and colors of the fruit have created such visual excitement that I am inspired over and over again.  This painting is listed in my Etsy shop.  Click tomatoes to see more details.

Your tomato series is wonderful! I really admire the way you use color to pull the eye around the piece and to give the whole composition unity. The shadows and highlights on the tomatos make them seem so alive and vibrant. Very nicely done!
