Floral Still Life Painting - Yellow Daisies, Lilacs, Blue And White Pitcher

14x18 Stretched Canvas
Cheri Wollenberg
This floral still life painting features bright yellow daisies, lilacs and baby's breath  arranged in a blue and white pitcher. It is fun to work with complementary colors when arranging still life compositions.  The complementary color of yellow is purple, and the complement of blue is orange.  I used  hues from both color families as I painted. I actually painted this once before.  I had saved the image so that I could use it as a reference.  As I began to search my files (and files) of photos I found this again and decided it would be fun.  It is listed in my Etsy shop.  Click here to find it.

Pumpkin With Blue and White Pitcher Still Life Painting

Pumpkin With Blue and White Pitcher

6x6 Oil on Canvas

Cheri Wollenberg

I love orange and blue together.  These two colors create a complementary color scheme that always makes a beautiful contrast.  This small pumpkin was just what I was looking for to create a small daily painting with a new blue and white pitcher that I had picked up a couple of weeks ago.  This little 6x6 painting can be found in my Etsy store.  Click here.

Brilliant, Yellow Sunflower Bouquet Still Life

11x14 Oil on Canvas
Cheri Wollenberg
Brilliant yellow sunflowers are beginning to pop up from the red earth here in Oklahoma.  By the end of July these wildflowers will be in the ditches of country roads everywhere.  Many choose to think of them as a weed of nuisance but they are such beautiful wildflowers.  I love to paint them (as do many artists) in still lifes especially when they are placed with their complementary colors of blues and purples.  This color combination brings a dazzle to my eye and brings a "happy" sense of feeling to my heart:)  To find this still life follow this link.

Green and Red Peppers in Blue and White Bowl Painting

10x10 Original Oil Painting
by
Cheri Wollenberg
Moving is not easy!  We have been moving to a different state during the last several weeks.  Oh My!!!
This is one of the paintings that I have managed to complete since moving my studio.  I'm getting use to my surroundings, and I needed the therapy that painting provides me.  When I paint my troubles and stress seem to disappear.  This particular still life painting was a little more tedious for me to do than some.  Green and red bell peppers make such a wonderful complementary statement.  Kitchens that have a lot of reds in them has to have green to create pleasing color balance.  In this painting the blue and white bowl seemed to be the perfect container for this little still life.  I loved the way the colors complemented one another and bounced around visually. If you are interested in this painting you can find it by clicking Peppers!
