Lilacs And Small White Daisies Painting

Lilacs In Copper Pot With Small White Daisies
14x14 Oil on Canvas
Cheri Wollenberg

This is a small change in my regular daisy painting this week...I decided to do another flower along with daisies. Of course lilacs are not in season right now but I was doing a search in my images for daisies and came along this still life set up I had photographed. I have this really sweet hand-painted China bowl that I'm always wanting to paint, but never can find anything to put with it to my satisfaction. In this arrangement the copper seemed to enhance the lilacs (the star of the show) and the little white daisies added to the floral arrangement. Then I noticed this great little bowl. I like it placed as a second focal point. Purples, yellow oranges, greens and white daisies make a nice color combination. The painting as a whole could be better if done from life....photographs are flat in dimension, not showing the light paths, but it was a great excercise. I enjoyed it. Click lilacs to find it.

Daisy Painting III - White Daisies, Pink Pitcher and Green Pear

6x8 Oil on Canvas
Cheri Wollenberg
This daily painting has daisies of course, but I liked using the pink pitcher and the spring green hue in the pear.  It makes for a nice complementary combination. It can be found on in my Etsy store by clicking PINK AND GREEN!

Daisy Painting II by Cheri Wollenberg

14x14 Oil on Canvas

Daisies last and stay fresh looking for a long time.  This makes them very desirable to use in floral compositions in paintings.  I enjoyed arranging this still life with neutral, analogous colors and thought that the golden green centers of the daisies would be enhanced by this golden Frankoma pottery piece.  The beige eggs with the gold created a warm mood; however, I couldn't keep from adding something that would give the composition a punch so I placed the blue pitcher in.  The dark background seems to enhance the flowers and create a good contrast.  This painting is in my Etsy store.  To visit click here.

Plum Pink Tulips - Small Still Life Painting

6x8 Oil on Canvas
Cheri Wollenberg
Still painting tulips!  I'll have to play this one out.  The color of these are very interesting and I didn't want to have a plain background so I did a little experimenting (lol).  This tulip painting is in my Etsy shop as well.

Pink Tulips Oil Painting

8x8 Oil on Canvas
Cheri Wollenberg
I am very ready for spring!
The garden spot is being tilled...ready for new seeds, sprouts of new life, and fresh, tasty yields of vegetables and fruit.  I love this time of the year when the tulips, hyacinth and daffodils begin to peep out of the ground to the sky.  Painting these pink tulips made me smile.  They are in my Etsy shop.  Just click tulips.
