Three Apples and Blue and White Bowl

Three Apples and Blue and White Bowl
9x12 Oil on Canvas Board
by
Cheri Wollenberg
This painting is an older one that I painted a couple of years ago.  Some paintings I can't hardly give up for one reason or another.  I've never quite figured it out.  My husband says, "You can paint another one!"  But, there is something that keeps me bonded with them (like Velcro).  Is it because I love the subject matter....the color.....design.....the end result (product)?  I wonder if it is that deep down.... I'm afraid that I couldn't quite duplicate it if I tried.  All artists know that we really can't duplicate something exactly and maybe....just maybe....that magical thing called "process"  is what we bond with.  Who knows (smiles)?

Tabasco and Hot Peppers

6x6 Artist Board
by
Cheri Wollenberg
Hot sauce is something we've always had around our house.  We like spicy hot foods and I thought it would be fun to place some peppers around a Tabasco Hot Sauce bottle for a composition to paint.  This was a "warm" subject to paint after some extremely cold and snowy weather here in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Mixed Rose Bouquet

11x14 Oil on Canvas
by
Cheri Wollenberg
I love to paint roses.  I just finished all of my small series of musical bovines and I'm feeling like spring.  Flowers are calling!!!  My husband brought in the prettiest mixed bouquet of roses to me for Valentines Day.  I have arranged those beautiful roses in dozens of ways and I'm anxious to get started on one.  They are a week old today and I have clipped the stems twice and they are still absolutely gorgeous.  This painting is one from an older image. To buy this painting you can click:  Roses.

I have painted this little pig in a lot of different ways.  I like to experiment with him.  I guess you might call this one my Valentine Pig.  He has been my Christmas pig - Piggy Pudding, Wilbur, Yanni and some other titles.  You can purchase prints of him by clicking: Tattoo.  Anyway.....Happy Valentines to all  Bloggers and readers of blogs, artists, or to those who are addicted to cute pigs!

Archie

Archie
12x12 Oil on Canvas
by
Cheri Wollenberg

This painting  features a portrait of a black and white crossbred steer that I named Archie. I was asked when he was being scanned what his name was and I couldn't think of anything at the moment until I happened to notice a box of archival paper nearby. Instantly, I knew what I was supposed to name him.....Archie!!!
Tah Dah! After "archival" paper!  To buy a print of Archie you can click:
