Three Apples and Blue and White Bowl
9x12 Oil on Canvas Board

Cheri Wollenberg
This painting is an older one that I painted a couple of years ago. Some paintings I can't hardly give up for one reason or another. I've never quite figured it out. My husband says, "You can paint another one!" But, there is something that keeps me bonded with them (like Velcro). Is it because I love the subject matter....the color.....design.....the end result (product)? I wonder if it is that deep down.... I'm afraid that I couldn't quite duplicate it if I tried. All artists know that we really can't duplicate something exactly and maybe....just maybe....that magical thing called "process" is what we bond with. Who knows (smiles)?

Beautiful! I love these colors together!
I see why you hung on to this one - lovely.
It's beautiful, Cheri and I totally understand that feeling of not being able to part with something or be able to duplicate it again to your satisfaction. Something magical does happen when you create that special piece. i believe it's feeling true joy and you get that feeling over and over when you look at what you've created. So, how can you remove that from your life? You just can't.
Carol, you nailed the word....magical.
I can see why you want to keep this one. I go through the same thing. I recently sold one of my favorites and I can't stop thinking about it. You can't let go until you're ready.
This is just beautiful!
